The bookcase can be found on the eastern wall of the building located south-west of the Seers' Village bank. Searching the bookcase results in the player finding a battered book, which when read starts the Elemental Workshop I quest and can be cut open to obtain a battered key. Subsequent searches of the bookcase after cutting open the book will result in the player finding a slashed book and the battered key if either have been lost.
