The Mountain Dwarf was a former character who could previously be found guarding the entrance to the White Wolf Tunnel. Players spoke to him in order to start the Fishing Contest quest. He later appeared in his own subquest during Recipe for Disaster.
In 2006, the Fishing Contest quest was reworked, and the Mountain Dwarf was replaced by two new characters named Austri and Vestri. As a result, he has never normally been present in Old School RuneScape, but remains in Recipe for Disaster.
