A monkey cage is an item that can be used to trap monkeys during the 2021 Birthday event. It can be made with ingredients from bamboo barrels in Zeke's Superior Scimitars., by using a knife on bamboo whilst having at least three bamboo and one premium banana in the inventory.

The cages can only be placed after talking to Duke Horacio and receiving a list of locations to place the cage. Placing a cage in the correct location triggers a cutscene, with the cage being examinable as a Bamboo Monkey Trap. Placing the cage anywhere else is not possible.

If the player has enough monkey cages built (six in inventory), the player cannot take more premium bananas or bamboos from the barrels at Zeke's Superior Scimitars. The player will state: "I don't need any more of these. I have enough monkey cages built." If the player attempts to build more than six monkey cages, a chat message will state: "You cannot build anymore traps as you already have 6 built."
