Eldritch veil

The eldritch veil was a scrapped magic cape that was pitched as a reward from the Doom of Mokhaiotl. The veil would have required 80 Magic to wear, and would have surpassed the imbued god capes as the new best-in-slot Magic cape.
The initial proposal for the veil in the Varlamore: The Final Dawn Quest, Delve Boss & Slayer Dungeon Rewards update blog had the following stats:
Players would create the untradeable veil by using a tradeable demonic mark (dropped from the Doom) on any imbued god cape.
On 14 January 2025, due to confusion from players about the stats of the cape compared to the difficulty of the Doom of Mokhaiotl (which was stated to be aimed at players who had or were close to having an infernal cape), Jagex clarified the veil was intended to be a minor upgrade slotted between the imbued god cape and the eventual infernal cape/Dizana's quiver-tier Magic cape. As seen in the revised blog, the veil would receive the following changes:
- The veil's Prayer bonus would be increased from -2 to +1.
- The veil's defensive stats would be re-examined, though no exact numbers were given.
- The veil would be a guaranteed drop at delve level 8, and the demonic mark would be removed.
- This made the veil untradeable.
- A passive effect was added, which would give all successful Magic attacks a minimum hit of 2. This passive effect would not interact with the multipilers from Tumeken's shadow.
However, on 28 January 2025, the eldritch veil was scrapped entirely in favour of the eldritch necklace, an upgrade to the occult necklace which used the demonic mark. Notably, the necklace lacked the minimum hit passive the revised eldritch veil had, which was due to concerns about powercreep.[1]
