Divine spirit shield

The divine spirit shield was a proposed enhanced spirit shield that would have been created by attaching a divine sigil dropped by the Corporeal Beast with a blessed spirit shield. It has twice failed to pass a poll to be added to Old School RuneScape, and has never been obtainable in game.

The divine sigil and divine spirit shield were originally polled to be added to the game in 2014 with the Corporeal Beast, alongside the other enhanced spirit shields. It would have had the same base stats that it had on its release into RuneScape in 2008:

It also would have had the special effect of reducing the damage the player receives by 30%, instead draining prayer points for 50% of the negated damage. Because of the power of this effect, the divine spirit shield was a major point of discussion within the community at the time, as addressed in the Content Poll 25 Dev Blog and its later revision.

In the end, the divine spirit shield was polled separately from the other three enhanced spirit shields, and an additional question was added to the poll asking whether the damage reduction effect of the divine spirit shield should be lowered to 25% if it was added to the game. The questions were included in Old School Content Poll 25, with the divine sigil getting only 66.1% approval and failing to reach the required 75% threshold to be added.

The divine spirit shield appeared again in a 2017 poll, as part of PvM QoL Week. The question was aimed to gather general opinions about the divine spirit shield, rather than poll for its immediate addition to the game. The Quality of Life - Ten PvM Suggestions Poll gave four options: 26.6% of responders preferred the divine sigil be added as an attachment to the elysian spirit shield, 43.6% preferred its original design as an attachment to the blessed spirit shield, and 29.8% said it should not be added to the game at all.

The divine spirit shield was most recently polled in 2019 as part of the Quality of Life - Mostly Re-runs 2019 poll. It failed with 72.8% of the vote, again short of the 75% threshold at the time.
