Calamity armour

Calamity armour is a set of equipment once owned by the Calamity Coven, a trio of Zarosians who, through corruption and abuse of authority, tarnished the reputation of the once glorious Duel Arena. The armour they left behind can be obtained from equipment chests during a match in the now renovated Emir's Arena.

Calamity armour is weaker defensively than typical tank gear, and has lower Ranged and Magic accuracy than dragonhide armour and magic robes at the equivalent tier. The tradeoff here is that players will be able to focus exclusively on swapping out the headgear, rather than messing about switching multiple pieces of equipment. This means saving inventory space and extra clicks in already-intense battles, at the expense of losing out on defensive bonuses compared to opponents wearing the best setups for their build.

Calamity armour comes in three tiers: Standard, superior, and elite. All pieces of Calamity armour requires level 70 Strength, Ranged, and Magic to be worn, though higher tiers require Defence levels to equip as well. In addition, the armour includes three tiers of headgear for each combat style, which require level 70 in the respective combat style.

The standard variant of Calamity armour requires level 70 Strength, Ranged, and Magic to be worn.

• Originally, Calamity armour were proposed as rewards from the PvP Arena Rewards shop. It would only be usable in PvP combat, and would have acted much like Void Knight equipment in that the chest and breeches gave roughly equal defensive bonuses for all styles bar Magic, and wearing the corresponding headgear would grant a set bonus. Players wearing Maoma's, Koriff's, and Saika's headgear would gain increased accuracy and damage in melee, ranged, and magic respectively.
  • The sets were released in unrestricted worlds during the Arena Reward Beta for playtesting, and were then polled in the Rewards for Beneath Cursed Sands & PvP Arena poll, all failing with around 53% support.
  • The sets would later be revised as a "tribrid" gear set that works with all three combat styles without any set bonuses. This would be polled again in the PvP Arena Rewards v2 poll, failing with 70% support. As a compromise, the armour set was added to the Emir's Arena as exclusive items to be used during a match within the minigame.
