Alan is a slightly deranged tourist who starts the Scrambled! quest. He asks the player to keep an eye on Humphrey Dumphrey, his egg friend sitting on a wall, while he leaves to gather food for a feast. Unfortunately, Humphrey Dumphrey has a great fall, prompting the player to gather King's men to put Humphrey Dumphrey back together again.

At the end of the quest, Alan tragically has a great fall of his own, killing him and leaving behind his bones on the ground.

Players should ensure they do not have a bonecrusher or bonecrusher necklace active on their person, as it will automatically crush his bones. This also implies that the player is at fault for his death, as the bones are credited to them.
