The Desert Trout was the ship of Taiman and his crew from Al Kharid. It was a fishing boat and sailed out from Al Kharid every fortnight to fish.[1] However not long ago, the ship was attacked near Karamja by Tempoross, an ancient sea spirit.[2] The ship was sunk by the powerful storm Tempoross whipped up. Taiman and his crew all survived and washed ashore near Al Kharid, where they reported the event to Chancellor Hassan, who called upon help from more fishers to fight against Tempoross, thus forming the Spirit Anglers.[3][4]

The crew of The Desert Trout consisted of four members: Taiman the skipper, Koanee the navigator, Timallus the chef, and Lauretta the crewmember.

The account of the ship's encounter with Tempoross can be read in the desert trout - ship's log, which can be found on the book table in the Ruins of Unkah along with the Spirit anglers research notes. The remains of the ship can be found south of Tempoross Cove.
