The Hanging cape is an unused scenery object that can be found in the game cache. Originally, the cape could be seen on the top floor of the Wise Old Man's house hanging above the stairs.
Following the Draynor Bank Robbery, the Wise Old Man's house was redecorated, and he now wears a Saradomin cape. While the original version of his house can be seen in the cutscene of the bank robbery, and when talking to Miss Schism, the cape cannot be seen as he is wearing it during the robbery.
As a result, the Hanging cape has never been present in Old School RuneScape, although it remains in the game files.
