Elder-dragons

The elder-dragons are a world creation theory proposed in a book of folklore. The theory links the creation and 'life-force' of Gielinor to the existence of an ancient race of creatures known as the elder-dragons. As long as those dragons lived, the world would continue. Erasing the whole race would result in the 'end of the world'.

The elder-dragon theory is not widely known, nor popular with sceptics, believing it to have been created to throw doubt on the idea of Gielinor being devoid of life before the gods first arrived.[1]

Trivia

  • Although elder-dragons are generally believed to be a myth, the myth is partially based on reality. The idea of an ancient race of dragons that dwelt on Gielinor before any other is based on the Dragonkin, who in RuneScape 3 are revealed to have been the first to discover and inhabit Gielinor, long before the First Age.
  • K'klik's examine is "Could this be one of the Elder dragons?", although he is a fairy dragon.
