The bookcase is located on the eastern wall of the Necromancer Tower's ground floor. Searching the bookcase results in the player finding a missing book due to it being on loan to the Wizards' Guild.
The missing book is confirmed by Irwin Feaselbaum to be the Necromancy book that is found in Sithik Ints' bedroom cupboard during the Zogre Flesh Eaters quest.

Searching the bookcase
- You see a selection of books, but one slot is empty with a note in it's place, it says,'On loan to the wizards' guild...to be returned.
