Herbert Dunwich was an adventurer and the author of The weeping. He lived sometime during the God Wars and described himself as neutral towards the conflict, weary of the immense loss of life it had caused. The weeping recounts his experience with a mysterious weeping creature he encountered in a pit beneath the northern shore of Forinthry.

Trivia

In RuneScape, Herbert Dunwich is the name of the author of the Pestilent journal.
The author's name, Herbert Dunwich, is a reference to both Herbert West–Reanimator and The Dunwich Horror, which were both written by H. P. Lovecraft.
